A very useful improvement of the 2D MANUAL SECTION function would be to improve this function so that the section is dynamic, i.e. when a change is made in the global 3D model, the change is also updated on the drawing model where this section was made during drawing processing item.
Similar to this function to MANUAL 2D SECTION is the function next to it, i.e. AUTOMATIC 2D SECTION, but this function is limited only to a single element, e.g. an I-beam. On the other hand, MANUAL SECTION 2D gives you the ability to create cross-sections consisting of several elements.
A program that I use for reinforced concrete structures (from another manufacturer) has a similar function. There, cross-sections are made in a similar way and they are dynamic and it works great in use.
I know that Bentley recommends using the SELECT VIEW function in this case, which is performed on the global model, but in my opinion it is more laborious because an additional view should be made in the global 3D model, then detailed in the detailing center, then remember which place this additional view of the element and mark manually where this additional view of the element is made.
In my opinion, it would greatly improve the detailing of elements and make the work of users easier and faster, the more that, as I wrote above, I have experience in another program in which cross-sections of elements are made very similarly and it works great because when processing a given element / drawing, everything is in one area working.

Are you using prosteel connect edition? There is a command Section Callout, which acts similar to manual section 2d, but updates section view automatically on every change of the model. You can then reference this saved view with reference manager to multiple sheets/models or files.
