We are working with several Robotic welding manufacturers who are using offline programming methods to automatically recognize welds and optimize robot paths for welding.
there is a big advantage in having welds from the model exported to the exchange file for analysis. The alternative is to manually re-add the welds to the offline model, which is inherently risky, due to misinterpretation or mis-keying of data.
