The DOT I do most of my work for formats bar marks such that they restart numbering for each bar size. For example, 1A501, 1A502, 1A503, 1A601, 1A602 etc. As I understand it this isn't possible with the automatic bar marks and requires manual bar marks which makes the process less automatic and potentially prone to mis-marking.
